Burke Hunter Adams (BHA), acting as Quantity Surveyors, continue to supporting the redevelopment of the Grade II listed Assize Court in Devizes. The building will become the new home of the Wiltshire Museum.
The project includes the refurbishment of the existing building alongside a contemporary extension. We’re delighted that it has now progressed to RIBA Stage 4 (Technical Design). This marks a key milestone as the design develops into coordinated technical information ahead of procurement.
At this stage, BHA are providing detailed cost planning and cost management services to support the design team. We are also helping to ensure the scheme remains aligned with the project budget.
Working within a heritage setting presents several challenges. These include managing risk associated with existing building conditions and integrating new elements within the historic fabric. BHA continue to work closely with the wider consultant team to support the delivery of a coordinated and commercially viable design.
The project will deliver improved cultural and visitor facilities for Devizes and the Wiltshire Museum, while preserving the character and significance of the Assize Court.
